This website is organised as 10 modules under the following themes: Being, Knowing and Doing. What do each of these themes mean in the context of AI?

This theme focuses on recognising the ways in which AI is already an integral part of our being. It shapes the way we think, interact, work, and make decisions.

This theme provides you with an understanding of how AI works, and how it came to be – tracing its roots in history upto the present – as well as recognising the ways (known and unknown) in which it will shape our future.

This theme urges us to engage with AI proactively, and involves contemplating and discussing how we desire AI to mirror our societal values. In this section, we explore ways to shape the future of AI constructively, responsibly, and inclusively through thoughtful dialogue and considerations.

The modules contain the following:

You will be introduced to the module and will get a sense of what aspect of AI you will be exploring.

This section explains why we are focussing on a particular aspect of AI in order to deepen our knowledge of and relationship with AI.

The different levels that each module corresponds to are indicated here.

This section provides you with a quick snapshot of what you will learn and explore in the module.

This section compiles a variety of resources, including articles, blogs, interactive web pages, videos, and more. These materials offer valuable and engaging content to explore and deepen your understanding of the module’s themes.

This module section prompts you to engage in deeper reflection, encouraging contemplation on the various aspects of AI that you have encountered in your readings.

This module segment comprises individual and community activities. Individual activities are meant to be undertaken independently, while community activities encourage group participation in various settings such as at home, a garden, a park or a classroom. Both sets of activities aim to foster understanding and reflection on real-world applications of AI.

Start with module 1 and progress on to module 2, 3, etc. onwards. You may wish to jump the order of modules, as each module contains recommendations for other connected modules you can explore, rather than progressing in a linear way.

Levels: Learner to Explorer to Innovator

As you advance through the different modules, you will also advance in terms of your understanding of and relationship with AI. You will progressively move to a different level that represents your relationship with AI. These are:

At this level you are new to finding out about AI, curious about its implications but unsure where to start. The module is for anyone above 16+. You do not need any prior knowledge, so don’t worry, dive in!

At this level, you’ve grasped the basics of AI and are ready to delve into real-world applications of AI and how it will affect you. Some prior knowledge is necessary.

At this level, you would like to take an active role in shaping discussions of AI around you. This may be at home, at school, at work or in your community. You will have sufficient knowledge to guide others around you but you don’t need to be an expert!
