Hello!
Have you been curious, interested, or even intimidated by AI? It has permeated our lives, and modern society is nearly unthinkable without AI! A lot of information is available on AI, but it’s often presented in a static, unengaging way.

The goal of this website is not just to inform, but to empower individuals and communities to engage with AI, and ultimately to shape the future of AI! This website aims to be a living document that is updated every 6 months based on your feedback! This is an experiment in web design, human collaboration, and social advocacy. Please reach out to us with your thoughts, questions, feedback! Did we miss something?

Should we change a module? Is something unclear? Let us know!

This website was inspired by the work for the Socially Intelligent Artificial Systems (SIAS) Group, and the Civic AI Lab. Our goals are to create an AI society that is pro-social, increases equal opportunity, and reduces inequality! You can listen to what that means in this speech by our Director Prof. Dr. Sennay Ghebreab

This website is organised as 10 modules under the following themes: Being, Knowing and Doing. What do each of these themes mean in the context of AI?

This theme focuses on recognising the ways in which AI is already an integral part of our being. It shapes the way we think, interact, work, and make decisions.

This theme provides you with an understanding of how AI works, and how it came to be – tracing its roots in history upto the present – as well as recognising the ways (known and unknown) in which it will shape our future.

This theme urges us to engage with AI proactively, and involves contemplating and discussing how we desire AI to mirror our societal values. In this section, we explore ways to shape the future of AI constructively, responsibly, and inclusively through thoughtful dialogue and considerations.

Because everyone learns in different ways, each module up into three sections to match your preference! If you like reading and watching videos, have a look at the Study Room, if you like learning by doing, head on over to the Activity Room, and if you like to ponder difficult questions, the Reflection Room is the place for you. Have fun!
